Town of Walpole Invests in Little League Field
Walpole, MA—September 20, 2007
The town of Walpole has hired CampusCare® to renovate the Joe Morgan Little League Field on School Street in Walpole. This project was started Thursday, September 20, 2007.
The existing, uneven field was an unfit home for the town's recent Little League World Series participants. The plan is to rennovate the field to make it both more playable and safer.
Prior to the project's commencement, the area around home plate had some severe holes and the infield wasn't even.
Work began Thursday with the full excavation of the existing infield and its perimeter. The surface then had to be laser graded, the pitchers mound built to specification, and sod installed around the skinned infield.Though the final results will not be visible until the spring once the grass has filled in, the drastic improvement to the field is already noticeable.
The field now looks like a professional playing surface and is certainly something the Little League teams of Walpole will anticipate using next spring.
